Building the bed frame

While staying with our friends in Stockholm, we found some perfectly good bed slats in a community cleanup recycling bin and after a very small amount of thought decided to cut them 80cm long each, leaving us with a rather large 160cm bed which is located above the vehicles cabin in a loft type setup.

There is only a 7sm gap between half the bed slats and the floor, so we have made a series of ventilation holes. The bed also adds structural rigidity in quite a few directions and makes a good use of space.

The mattresses we also got for free and they are only about 15cms thick. So hopefully there will be enough head room once they are in.

The next step will be some storage shelves, cabinets, lights, a curtain and something to cover the walls with.
